Some big games that pop out right away are obviously the games against divisional rival Falcons. The Saints-Falcons rivalry is one of the best in the NFL today, and whenever these two teams get together the atmosphere is sure to be electric. This season the Saints will try to regain control over the NFC South, but the Falcons will not relinquish the title willingly. Saints fans and NFL fans alike should mark their calendars for any Saints-Falcons matchup.
Looking over the schedule there are some other key games for Saints fans to pay attention to. One game that could be a big test for the Saints is the road game against the Seahawks, which will be the first meeting between Drew Brees and Russell Wilson.
Wilson is often compared to Brees as both are two of the shorter quarterbacks in the NFL. However, despite their size both quarterbacks have enjoyed great success in the league. This game will probably come down to which quarterback can outplay the other, but the Seahawks’ defense could be another factor.
The Seahawks will probably have one of the best defenses in the NFL next season so Brees and his offense will have their work cut out for them. Besides road games against the Falcons and Patriots I think this game against the Seahawks could be the toughest of the season for the Saints.
If the Saints want to get back to the postseason they will need to prove that they are able to win on the road. With some tough road games it will not be easy, but the Saints will be up for the challenge and could surprise quite a few teams.
One thing that the Saints will need to improve on in 2013 is their defense. Right now there are a lot of question marks surrounding the Saints’ defense, and the defense’s success will be vital to the Saints’ overall success. The Saints’ offense should continue to fire on all cylinders and be one of the best in the NFL next season.
This season the Saints could win a lot of games and I think they have a good shot at going undefeated at home. The road games will be a tough test for the Saints, but if they can prove they can win on the road the team could find themselves back in the playoffs.
