2013 NFL Schedule: Will Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III Be Ready For Prime Time?

With the release of the 2013 NFL schedule, one of the top games that stuck out the most was in Week 1 as the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins will square off against each other in an earl NFC East matchup. Obviously, this matchup sticks out because of Robert Griffin III and how well he performed last season, but will the star quarterback be healthy enough to play in Week 1 for the Redskins?

Last January, Griffin suffered a devastating injury when he tore his ACL in the playoffs against the Seattle Seahawks–putting the status of his 2013 season in jeopardy. Considering how serious the injury is, nobody knew what to expect from Griffin when it comes to his recovery process, but he’s seemed more determined than ever to make sure he’s healthy enough to suit up for Washington in Week 1.

All signs at this point to Griffin being able to return in Week 1, but the last thing the Redskins want to see happen is their star quarterback return to the field too soon and put his 2013 season in jeopardy. As bad as it sounds, Washington will only go as far as Griffin carries them next season and without him in the lineup, their chances of making the playoffs again seem slim.

The NFL may have their hearts set on Griffin being featured in the first Monday night game of the season, but it will be interesting to see whether or not Griffin will be able to suit up in time due to his ACL injury.
