Peyton Manning Gets Blasted by Andre Caldwell for Not Inviting Him to “Play Catch”

Ron Chenoy – USA TODAY Sports

Denver Broncos receiver Andre Caldwell called quarterback Peyton Manning out because he wasn’t invited to “play catch” at Duke University last week. Manning, Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker and new starting slot receiver Wes Welker were invited, and for good reason.

Someone needs to let Caldwell know that he better be doing everything he can to get on Manning’s good side, because if the Broncos select any kind of receiver in the 2013 NFL Draft this weekend, then that could mean disater for the sixth-year receiver out of the University of Florida.

Manning targeted Caldwell four times last season and Caldwell caught one pass for 18 yards.

Caldwell posted on his Twitter account that he was upset because he did not receive an invite. Manning responded saying that “Caldwell shouldn’t take it personally.”

I personally think that Caldwell knows he’s on his way out and he’s just crying about it. If Caldwell wanted to prove that he should have been invited then he should have posted something that stated that he was about to get to work and have the best offseason of his career so he can get in the mix with Thomas, Decker and Welker instead of pouting and taking things personally.

Manning doesn’t like immature teammates, but what he does like is hard work and studying the game and his opponents. Caldwell better figure that out quickly or he will be looking for his third team before his sixth season gets underway.
