The Buffalo Bills Nab Undrafted Stud Linebacker Keith Pough

Over the years, the Buffalo Bills have had a knack of nabbing up undrafted free agents including Pat Williams, Jason Peters, David Nelson and Donald Jones to name a few that really stick out. This year is no exception as they get Howard University linebacker Keith “Kiwi” Pough. Pough has excellent size at 6′ 2″ 240 lbs. and is a tenacious defender to say the least.

He is simply a tackle for loss machine as in his four years with the Bison, Pough amassed a FCS record 72 tackles for loss. Besides the punishing behind the line of scrimmage punisher Pough is, in high school he was also a wide receiver so his coverage skills are often overlooked. While a lot of experts figured he could play either outside linebacker position in the 4-3, however in the 3-4 it is flipped and could play either inside positions especially with attacking linebackers such as Mario Williams, Mark Anderson and Manny Lawson at his disposal.

Despite only being on the Buffalo Bills for less than 24 hours, he has fully embraced the team’s passionate and loyal fan base, which will help him greatly at OTA’s, training camp and pre-season games when the fans begin to chant his name. Pough was seen as a possible day two selection being selected in the third round. However, his draft stock fell like a rock for some unknown reason. Like the saying goes “One persons’ trash is another one’s treasure.” This could be one of the bigger undrafted gems in recent memory league wide if he were to make the team and one can only hope he plays with a huge chip on his shoulder under defensive coordinator Mike Pettine Jr.
