Philadelphia Eagles Make It Clear They're Not Interested in Tim Tebow

By Dan Parzych

The Tim Tebow circus has officially come to an end with the New York Jets as the team released the quarterback on Monday morning after just one season–which should come as no surprise considering how things turned out last year. The Jets have been shopping Tebow for weeks with the hope someone would surrender at least a draft pick in exchange for the quarterback, but now it looks like the former first-round pick will be looking for a new team on his own.

One team Tebow can cross off his list though–the Philadelphia Eagles.

While it may seem like he’s worth the risk for Chip Kelly‘s offense, the Eagles made it clear right away they have no interest in bringing Tebow on board for the 2013 season. Philadelphia already has enough on their plate with the quarterback position between Michael Vick, Nick Foles, Dennis Dixon, and now Matt Barkley–so the last thing they needed to do was bring on another quarterback like Tebow to make the situation even more complicated for them.

If there’s anything to take away from the last two seasons, it’s Tebow simply isn’t fit to be a quarterback in the NFL considering how much he struggles with simply throwing the football–which is a pretty important factor for a starting quarterback. There’s no telling what to expect from Tebow at this point heading into the 2013 season, but it will be interesting to see if another team is willing to give him a shot at a different position.

Either way–at least the drama surrounding Tebow in New York has finally come to an end and Philadelphia is being smart by avoiding the quarterback for the 2013 season.
