Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick Beats RB LeSean McCoy in 40-Yard Dash

(Jim O’Conner/USA Today Sports)

When it comes to the top running backs in the NFL, LeSean McCoy of the Philadelphia Eagles is right up there with the rest of them. When it comes to Michael Vick, he’s always been praised for his speed and even though he’s appeared to be on the downfall of his career–it appears he still has the speed to beat his teammate in a race.

Apparently, Vick and McCoy decided to race in a 40-yard dash on Thursday morning and believe it or not–it was Vick who came through as the winner. Considering the difference in age, everybody expected McCoy to come out on top in a race like this as Vick’s legs haven’t seemed the same compared to a few years ago.

Well, looks like that was far from the case and the quarterback still has some speed.

Obviously, there’s no reason to make that big of a deal over a race like this, but the Eagles have to be pleased that Vick was able to prove he still has speed in him at 32 years of age. After finishing with a disappointing 4-12 record last season, there’s plenty of pressure on Philadelphia to bounce back in 2013.

Hopefully, Vick can manage to stay healthy enough where he can take advantage of using his speed on offense and help get the Eagles back to the playoffs for the first time in three years. Vick’s always proven to be most effective when using his legs–so let’s hope that turns out to be the case next season.
