The Tennessee Titans realize if they’re going to have any shot at competing in the AFC South next season–they’re going to need to figure out a way to add a few more weapons on defense. On the bright side, the team hopes that one defensive player from a former rival will join the team next season–Dwight Freeney.
The defensive star is expected to visit with the Titans and even though the Indianapolis Colts decided to part ways with him–there’s no question Freeney has what it takes to still make an impact on defense for the 2013 season. During his time in Indianapolis, Freeney had always proven to be one of the most effective pass rushers in the league and even though he may not only have another good year or two left–Tennessee could certainly use him for the 2013 season.
Freeney’s options may be limited for the 2013 season as there have only been a few teams who have expressed interest in the defensive player–so it would be wise for him to do whatever it takes to try and work things out with the Titans. This team will need all of the weapons they can get if they’re going to have any shot at winning the division next year.
With an addition like Freeney–it could give the Titans a better shot at being a contender in the division heading into the 2013 season and give teams like the Houston Texans and Colts a run for their money.
