With the 2013 NFL Draft officially over with, it's only a matter of time before training camp is here--which means there will be plenty of interesting quarterback battles to keep an eye on.

Even though this year's draft class wasn't filled with as many talented quarterbacks as previous years, there are a few rookies with the potential to make a name for themselves in their first year as it will be interesting to see what happens once training camp gets underway. From Geno Smith's position with the New York Jets to Matt Barkley possibly competing for a starting spot with the Philadelphia Eagles, anything is possible once the regular season rolls around and anything seems possible at this point.

If there's anything to take away from last year, it would be that rookies have just as good of a shot at making an impact during their first season as anyone else in the NFL. This year's draft class may not be as effective, but there's no reason why the rookies from this year's draft can't make an impact.

However, if any of these rookies are going to have a shot at the starting job, it certainly won't be easy as there's a handful of veterans that will be putting up a fight to hang on to the starting job themselves. Here's a look at five key quarterback battles that involve rookies heading into training campe for the 2013 season right around the corner.

5. Jordan Rodgers vs. Blaine Gabbert vs. Chad Henne

As crazy as it sounds, Jordan Rodgers could put up a surprise fight against Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne when it comes to the starting job for the 2013 season. He may not have been drafted, but with a last name of Rodgers--anything is capable of happening at the NFL level.

4. Tyler Wilson vs. Matt Flynn vs. Terrelle Pryor--Oakland Raiders

At this point, the starting job is Matt Flynn's to lose, but his situation last year with Russell Wilson proved that anything is possible. Tyler Wilson and Terrelle Pryor will do whatever it takes to compete for the starting job--so training camp could be interesting for these three players.

3. Mike Glennon vs. Josh Freeman--Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The argument can be made that Josh Freeman is on the hot seat as he's been one of the most inconsistent quarterbacks over the last couple of seasons. Mike Glennon certainly has the potential, so it wouldn't be a surprise if this turned out to be Freeman's last year to prove himself as the starter in Tampa Bay.

2. Matt Barkley vs. Michael Vick vs. Nick Foles--Philadelphia Eagles

Only time will tell before we know if Matt Barkley will turn out to be one of the biggest steals of the draft, but the Eagles have nothing to lose in this situation. 2013 is basically Michael Vick's last shot to prove himself as a starter and with the potential shown by Nick Foles last year as a rookie--he certainly can't be ruled out either.

1. Geno Smith vs. Mark Sanchez vs. David Garrard--New York Jets

NFL

Despite all of the recent controversy surrounding Geno Smith, there's no reason why the quarterback shouldn't be able to compete for the starting job at quarterback. Mark Sanchez has received plenty of opportunities to prove himself over the years and David Garrard hasn't taken a snap during the regular season in a few years--which is why this is the moster interesting quarterback situation to keep an eye on heading into training camp.
