The Cleveland Browns knew they were taking a risk when they drafted defensive end Armonty Bryant in the seventh round of this year’s draft. Bryant went No. 217 overall to Cleveland, a place he was lucky to go. The DE had several run-ins with the law back in college at East Central (OK), including allegedly selling marijuana to an undercover officer.
His string of genius moves continued this past Monday, when he was pulled over and charged with DUI. Bryant blew a .098, which is just higher than the legal limit of .08. Close, yet he still fails, big time.
His words after the draft, make him seem even more like a jackass:
“I feel like it was just a stupid move on my part. I should have been more mature about the situation and be more focused on football, which is something I really want to do with my life. Now that I’ve gotten that second chance, I feel like I won’t let anyone down.”
Well, Bryant did let someone down, himself. I have absolutely no sympathy for this moron. Obviously, he wasn’t fall down drunk at .098, but he shouldn’t have even been behind the wheel. He had been given a second chance, and somewhat of a clean slate, but now that’s gone.
Bryant has proved to the Browns’ organization that he has not matured, and I won’t be a bit surprised if they just let him go. Why even invest an nickel into a guy that’s already back in trouble after only one week in the pros?
Armonty Bryant, you sir, are an idiot.
