Could Tennessee Titans Win the AFC South?
The Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts are the two teams that most will choose between to win the AFC South in the upcoming NFL Season. However, it is the Tennessee Titans that could be the surprise team in the division.
The Titans drafted an extremely talented class in the 2013 NFL Draft that included Alabama Crimson Tide offensive lineman, Chance Warmack, and Tennessee Volunteers’ receiver, Justin Hunter. They also were very aggressive in free agency signing Shonn Greene, Bernard Pollard, Andy Levitre and Sammie Hill. Tennessee has brought in a cast of great football players in the offseason.
Jake Locker will finally have an offensive line that is capable of protecting him long enough so that he has time to pass, and Chris Johnson will finally have a group of linemen to block for him. Greene will also take some of the pressure off Johnson to make a big run every play, and the Titans’ offense will be clicking for the first time in a very long time.
Tennessee is not a team that should be taken lightly in the AFC South. Their defense always seems to be solid, but their offense has been suspect. This season their offense is much better than it has been in a while and will be able to compete with both the Texans and the Colts. Tennessee may not win the AFC South this season, but the Titans are more than capable of making it to the playoffs in a Wild Card spot.
