Top 5 Dumbest Moments Of Titus Young

There are certain players in the NFL that have all the talent in the world, yet they don’t have the head to put that talent to good use. It’s hard to believe that with the gargantuan amount of money these players are making that they would do things dumb enough to put those funds in jeopardy.

Against all odds though, several players still think they are above the law and are untouchable when it comes to doing what they want. It becomes an even bigger joke when the players doing this aren’t even that great to begin with.

One great example of such a player is this year’s top competitor with Kenny Britt for dumbest arrests of the NFL off season, Titus Young. Young was put on injured reserve by the Detroit Lions last season and let go after it ended. Since then he has become a literal menace to society through a variety of dumb incidents, most of which don’t even make sense.

At one point last season, Young sent out a tweet about how he will succeed no matter what and then ended the tweet by using the hash tag hall of fame. The only hall of fame Young is approaching is the one for quickest downfall for an athlete in the existence of sports. Young actually has a chance to be a pretty good player in this league if only he could convince a team to take a chance on this seriously troubled person.

But let’s not get all sentimental about him, instead let’s look at all the fun things Young has been up to this offseason.

5. Gets in fight with teammate at Boise State, suspended rest of the season

Sophomore year of college, ah what a wonderful time to hang out with friends, go to parties and if you're Titus Young, attempt to beat the hell out of one of your teammates. Young ended up getting suspended for most of the season, which subsequently led to many teams passing on him when it came to draft him. But then the Detroit Lions — you know, that team that is great at judging character — decided to give him a shot and how did he repay them? You'll see.

4. Titus Young, King Of Twitter

"Never needed the money Give me a dollar and a ball bet I come back #HallofFame" That's the ingenious tweet that Titus Young came up with shortly after voicing his displeasure with Lions not getting him the ball enough. Usually, diva receivers are actually good but in this case, you have a small slot receiver complaining he isn't getting the ball on a team where Calvin Johnson plays. Do you think the Lions want to take away chances from Johnson to give you the ball? Would that really be helpful to the team? Young was so out of line here that it's ridiculous, and he just kept the entertainment coming

3. Sucker Punching For Dummies, By Titus Young

punch

Punching a teammate seemed like such a good move the first time around, why not go for it one more time? In May of 2012, everyone's favorite third receiver sucker-punched teammate Louis Delmas during spring practice and was sent home by the Lions coaching staff. I'm sure this only endeared Young's teammates to him even more. I mean, who doesn't like a teammate who punches you in the face when you aren't looking?

2. Titus The Sneaky Little Lion

This one is just golden. In a move that a Pop Warner player wouldn't do, Young purposely lined up in the wrong position in 2012 and then screamed at the Lions' wide receiver coach ... then never saw the field again as a Lion. No one ever said Titus Young wasn't creative; then again, no one ever said he was smart either.

1. Operation Get My Car Back

Ladies and gentleman, I give you the showstopper. On May 5, 2013, Young was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving. Nothing too crazy here. Fast forward 14 hours to begin the filming of Mission Impossible 5: Dude, Where's My Car. In this brilliant movie, Titus Young uses his football abilities to infiltrate a tow truck yard by hopping the fence, only to have his plans foiled again by a guy literally watching him hop said fence. The result is two arrests in 14 hours and a sparkling candidate for the CIA's next Splinter Cell. Young is currently a free agent — any team in need of a ninja?
