Buffalo Bills Sign 7th-Round Pick Chris Gragg
Gragg is 6-foot-3, 244 pounds. and has amazing straight line speed, running a 4.50 40-yard dash time at the combine. His contract figures haven’t been released, but a reliable estimate suggests that it’s four years and worth about $2.16 million over the course of the deal.
Gragg also figures to be an excellent compliment to fellow Bills tight end Scott Chandler, who is on the mend still from an ACL tear last December and Lee Smith, a tight end who is more about about blocking than receiving. Gragg is similar to current Bills fullback/tight end Dorin Dickerson and if both of them could be utilized properly, the team could have two more promising scoring threats on the field.
Gragg’s junior year was his break out season as he had the third-most catches on the team with 41 and had the forth-most receiving yards with 518.
The knock on Gragg has been his health, he’s had a nagging knee injury that only allowed him to play in five games his senior year, but he did have 22 catches for 289 yards in those games with three touchdowns. Simply put, if Gragg can stay healthy, no matter who the quarterback is for the Bills, he will make the passing attack better when he’s on the field.
