Over the years, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson has made quite the name for himself as one of the most dangerous wide receivers in the league–which is why it was no surprise to see him land one of the game’s top agents in Drew Rosenhaus. Now, it appears the wideout and the agent will be going their separate ways with the regular season just a few months away.

This does come as bit of a surprise considering Jackson did manage to land a five-year deal with the Eagles in March 2012 after spending years fighting for a long-term contract. Jackson’s numbers may have been down over the last two seasons, but Philadelphia’s offense in general has struggled as a whole–whether it would be a poor offensive line to Michael Vick staying healthy.
Still, the Eagles know what Jackson is capable of on offense and in the return game–so it was no surprise to see them lock him up to a five-year deal last year considering the last thing they want to see happen is him end up on a different team. The move to let Rosenhaus go does come as a bit of a surprise, but there’s already talk about Jackson leaving the popular agent to join Jay-Z and his new firm.
With the amount of athletes Jay-Z has already recruited–it wouldn’t be a surprise if this ended up being true.
