The Kansas City Chiefs locker room has been brewing with confidence this offseason; coaches and players have continued to praise each other and are starting to believe that this could be a huge season for the Chiefs. They have recently shown a lot of confidence in their tight end corps, which is stacked with talent such as Tony Moeaki, Anthony Fasano and Travis Kelce. Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson had this to say on KCchiefs.com:
“When we get Tony Moeaki back, we’ve got three solid guys with whatever happens, going through training camp. Right now, I like where (Anthony) Fasano is at. He’s working extremely hard. He’s a big, powerful guy that we can use in the run aspect of our offense. You mix that with Tony and his athleticism and his ability to run routes and then you throw in Travis Kelce , that gives us three really good tight ends right now.”
It is safe to say that the Chiefs have one of best tight end corps in the league. They have Moeaki and Fasano who are both major threats when it comes to the passing game, anyone one of those two are capable of putting up 50+ receptions in a season. Not to mention Fasano’s ability be be a good run-blocker for Jamaal Charles in the running game.
Not only do they give a huge boost to the offense, they will also be able to be mentors for the Chiefs rookie tight end Kelce who was drafted in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Overall, the Chiefs are set at tight end and will have plenty of weapons to use in the coming season.
