New Orleans Saints: Jimmy Graham Ready for a Big Season

Jimmy Graham

New Orleans Saints star tight end Jimmy Graham is ready to have another big season this year for the team. Last season, Graham made 85 receptions for 982 yards and nine touchdowns, which would be a great season for any player. However, by Graham’s standards he did not have a great season, and will be looking to come back even better in 2013.

Towards the end of last season, we learned that Graham had been dealing with an injury to his wrist for most of the year, and it was evident by his league-high 14 drops. With Graham coming off a successful wrist surgery, he should vastly improve in the coming season.

Another reason Graham will have a big season this year is because he is in a contract year, and will be looking to become one of the highest paid tight ends in the NFL. However, with Drew Brees getting the bulk of the salary cap, the Saints will have to get very creative as they attempt to draw up a deal for Graham. Nonetheless, Graham will get a huge payday and the Saints must figure out a way to get a deal done.

Heading into next season, Graham said that this offseason is “the hungriest I have ever been.” With Graham heading into next season completely healthy, and the return of Sean Payton, he could establish himself as the most dominant tight end in the NFL. Look for Graham to post career highs across the board and return to his Pro Bowl form of two years ago.
