Tim Tebow Will Face Low Expectations With New England Patriots; Which Should Lead to Good Fit
The Tim Tebow saga will continue…in Foxboro, Massachusetts.
The New England Patriots signed the free agent quarterback on Monday evening and in turn, the Twitter world was set on fire. The most publicized player (for reasons no scientist will ever figure out) has made another move this off-season, finding a new home within the same division. After being released from the New York Jets following the team’s decision to draft Geno Smith and basically give Mark Sanchez the shining light despite the team’s continued struggles a season ago.
Well, Bill Belichick is here to clean up Rex Ryan‘s mess, at least that’s what some will think, but with Tebow’s move to travel up the coast from New York to New England comes lower expectations. Tebow is not fresh off a playoff victory with the Denver Broncos and coming into a situation in which their is quarterback controversy. The Patriots will look to find a fit and expand their offense with Tebow now in the fold and expected at mini camp on Tuesday.
In all however, Tebow went to New York a season ago with expectations of competing for the job and when Sanchez and the team struggled, the Jets’ fan base even cried out for a switch. These are expectations that Tebow will not face in New England, not for a second with Tom Brady leading the charge. In all, Tebow will likely even be the third quarterback on the depth chart if he can prove his value leading out to training camp or if the organization even has plans to use him at his normal position.
Cue the #TebowTime in Foxboro.
