The OTA’s and mini-camps are coming to an end around the league, many players use the short break between OTA’s and team practices to take time off and rest up before the preseason starts. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith will not be following the same route.

Smith had the following so say about himself and his fellow teammates on

“For me, you’ve put in all this work, working out, football on the field throwing, so to take six weeks off and not continue that, it would be a shame with all the gains that we’ve made,”

“You’re constantly working out every day. We’re going to keep throwing. I’m going to continue throwing. When you can, yeah, you spend the rest of your time with your family, and get it in because once the season starts, I’ll be here a lot more than I’ll be at home.”

As stated above, Smith and his teammates don’t want to waste the progress and chemistry they have made during this seasons OTA’s. He didn’t state whether or not the whole team would continue to practice with each other, which is very unlikely, but it appears that all the Chiefs quarterbacks will continue to throw.

This is just one more piece of evidence that keeps Chiefs fans confident in what their team has achieved this offseason. Usually the Chiefs are relatively quiet, but this offseason has been much different. Coaches, players and even the team’s CEO have continued to speak out about their confidence and belief in this years team.
