Why Tony Romo Will Get the Dallas Cowboys Over the Hump
Since the 2006 season, Tony Romo has received plenty of opportunities to make the Dallas Cowboys one of the top teams in the league and even though he’s managed to make three playoff appearances, the quarterback only has one playoff win in his career. Unfortunately, when it comes to quarterbacks receiving criticism, the argument can be made that nobody has taken more heat over the years than Romo and even though he’ll be facing even more pressure in 2013–don’t be surprised if this is finally the year in which Romo gets the Cowboys over the hump.
Romo is coming off one of his best seasons with Dallas as he threw for 4,903 passing yards to go along with 28 touchdowns and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be able to post similar numbers once again in 2013. The Cowboys already have one of the league’s most dangerous duos at wide receiver in Dez Bryant and Miles Austin–so there’s no reason why these two stars shouldn’t make life easier for Romo as long as he stays healthy.
From the perspective of the Cowboys, the last two seasons have been frustrating as they could have easily won the NFC East title, but failed to do so. At this point in his career, there’s really no more excuses for Romo to get Dallas over the hump if he really wants to be the leader of this team and after all of the frustration that has built up from the last two seasons–expect big things from the star quarterback next season.
