In the sixth round of the 2013 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints picked up Oklahoma wide receiver Kenny Stills, and despite his late-round selection he could make an immediate impact. Some may question this pick since the Saints are stacked with talent at wide receiver, but Stills has a lot to offer to the receiving corps.

At 6-foot and 194 pounds, Stills is a speedy receiver with great hands and has a knack for making the difficult catches. Last season at Oklahoma, Stills caught 82 passes for 964 yards with 11 touchdowns. The Saints will not be looking for that same kind of production out of him, but he would be a great situational deep-threat alongside Joe Morgan.

The Saints figure to have Morgan, Marques Colston, and Lance Moore as their top wide receivers and Stills will be competing for the fourth spot. Stills’ biggest competition will be Nick Toon, and after missing his entire rookie campaign, Toon will be going hard for the spot. Also, wide receiver Andy Tanner, who spent last season on the practice squad, could give Stills some competition for the fourth wide receiver spot.

I think Stills chances of winning the fourth spot are pretty good given that he is a great route runner with great hands. Furthermore, having him line up opposite of Morgan would open the field up a lot for Drew Brees. However, Toon could be the one to beat him out if the Saints want some more height in the receiving corps. Given that he has great size at 6-foot-4 and 218 pounds, Toon could win over the fourth spot, but he is still coming off of foot surgery so we will see if his foot holds up.

Stills has a good chance to win the fourth spot if he outperforms Toon in training camp, and if he does, he will prove what a steal he was for the Saints.
