After nearly a week of speculation into a murder investigation surrounding New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, the Massachusetts State Police arrived at his North Attleborough home on Tuesday morning and arrested him.
Hernandez’s arrest appeared to be imminent over the course of the past week or so, but the general public and even members of the media were unsure when that would occur. An arrest warrant was reportedly being prepared late last week, but nothing ever amounted from that news until Tuesday morning.
Hernandez answered the door at his home shirtless on Tuesday morning, was handcuffed and led away by police. According to the Massachusetts State Police, the charges that are pinned against Hernandez will not announced until his arraignment on Tuesday morning/afternoon. Hernandez was transported to a local facility to be booked and processed and will then be led to the Attleborough District Courthouse for his arraignment.
Once the charges are presented in the courthouse, they will be released to the general public, considering it is public information. However, the police are waiting for that to occur, so it remains to be seen as of Tuesday morning just what Hernandez was arrested for and what he will be charged with.
Hernandez has been linked for over a week now in connection to the murder of 27-year old Odin Lloyd. More details are sure to surface depending on the charges — Hernandez will likely be arraigned and then can opt to be released on bail pending on the courtroom ruling.
