Josh Brent’s Second Failed Drug Test, Arrest Must End Tenure With Dallas Cowboys

It’s obvious Josh Brent will simply never learn. The former Supplemental NFL Draft pick was arrested yet again on Thursday after failing a drug test for marijuana. This is the second drug test he’s failed this month and all this is after he was charged with intoxication manslaughter in early December after crashing his car while driving drunk, which resulted in the death of his Dallas Cowboys teammate, Jerry Brown. Put simply: this guy ain’t got no sense.

Brent’s next scheduled hearing for the manslaughter charges was set for July 19, but it’s likely that will be changed now with yet another charge against him. In other words, the Dallas County legal folks are probably going to drop the hammer on him now if they weren’t already.

Seriously, does this guy enjoy smoking weed so much that he’s willing to go to jail for it? Does he like it so much that he’s willing to go to jail longer than he was going to already? There are simply no words to describe the stupidity.

On the flip side, the fact he’s still on the team after the manslaughter charge and first failed drug test is ridiculous. The Cowboys need to take a page out of the New England Patriots‘ playbook and learn how to properly run a pro sports franchise. They showed everyone how it’s done on Wednesday by releasing Aaron Hernandez immediately after he was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

If Brent is not released from the Cowboys by the time you’re done reading this article, the Cowboys will never win anything as long as Jerry Jones is in charge.
