2013 Will Be A Win/Win Situation For Baltimore Ravens No Matter What

No matter what happens in the 2013 NFL season, it will be a win/win situation for the Baltimore Ravens.

Obviously the best scenario for the Ravens would be to win a second straight championship, but let’s face it; that isn’t an easy task to accomplish in the salary cap world of the NFL. The New England Patriots were the last to pull of that feat nearly ten years ago.

Personally I say every year if the Ravens can get to the second round then I’m happy. No matter how good of a team you are you need a little luck to go all the way.

Now what if the Ravens only go 8-8, 7-9, etc? Then guess what? That’s still okay. Why would that be okay you ask? Let me throw out some names: Joe Flacco, Ray Rice, Jamal Lewis, Terrell Suggs, and Haloti Ngata. What do these guys have in common? Only the fact that they were all drafted after non-playoff seasons. When General Manager Ozzie Newsome gets early picks inside the top 20, then forget about it. Basically my point being that one crappy Ravens season usually brings four or five good seasons afterwards.

My message to Ravens fans about the 2013 season. Enjoy it, consider it a bonus season. Keep wearing all the Super Bowl gear and bask  in 100 percent. Repeating would be awesome and we should all hope for it, but if not then it’s not the end of the world. Until then keep watching your Super Bowl DVD over and over like me.
