Baltimore Ravens Unfairly Shut Out At ESPYs

Not one single award was given to the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday night at the ESPYs after the team was nominated for four categories. The team was nominated for best play, best game, best team and Joe Flacco was nominated for the best championship performance.

Going into the award ceremony, a lot of people thought the Ravens vs. Denver Broncos game was going to be named the best game of the year. I personally thought it would, and it should have won the award as well.

I can’t help but think that the Ravens not winning the best game award is due to people still thinking that the team winning against the Broncos was a fluke. Well, if people want to cry and use lame excuses about Flacco’s bomb to Jacoby Jones by giving what ifs, then let them.

The Ravens can use a lot of things for motivation this upcoming season, but I don’t think being shut out at the ESPYs will be one of them. I could be wrong, but great players and great teams use any situation where they feel slighted or disrespected to fire themselves up.

I’m pretty sure the commentary about the Ravens being a long shot to compete for a Super Bowl in 2013 will be more than enough motivation. With all of the changes on the roster, I personally believe the team will be energized.

At the end of the day, it was good to see the Ravens represented well with Ray Lewis, Torrey Smith,Terrell Suggs and Flacco being spotted at the ceremonies.
