The NFC West is heating up to be one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL this season as both the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks are amongst the top-ranked teams heading into the 2013-2014 year.

Both teams are led by up-and-coming quarterbacks who have dazzled with their abilities not only to pass the ball, but use their mobility to make plays. One of the best ways for fans to show their support for their favorite teams and players has been by way of competing in Madden — by far the biggest NFL-based video game of the past twenty years.

In preparation for the brand new edition of the video game, both quarterbacks have been featured in the previews and are heavily involved in the marketing projects for the release.

Recently, Colin Kaepernick and Russell Wilson sat down to play a game of the new Madden together and in celebration of scoring a touchdown on the 49ers quarterback, Wilson posed for a picture while partaking in the phenomenon dubbed ‘Kaepernicking.’

Kaepernick is famous for kissing his bicep after he scores and last season there were plenty of variations of apparel sporting the move. Whether it was shirts, hats or posters the fans had it all.

Seattle fans, I feel for you. I understand this may be hard to see.

The bright side, for Seattle, is that Wilson sure showed the ability to have fun and show a little sportsmanship with his competition. The two quarterbacks have been widely compared as one being better than the other, or vice versa since about midway through the 2012 campaign.

Wilson better make sure of one thing, though: He’s got to find his own ‘move’ for next year. The term ‘Kaepernicking’ has been trademarked.
