2014 Baltimore Ravens Free Agents

The 2013 NFL season is vastly approaching. But it's never too early to look ahead to 2014, especially when you write weekly opinionated columns like myself.

This past offseason saw a lot of defectors from the Baltimore Ravens roster. Guys like Paul Kruger, Dannelle Ellerbe, Ed Reed and Cary Williams either chose or were forced to seek their fortunes elsewhere.

Next season will bring more unrestricted free agents and more turn overs. As of now, the players scheduled to be unrestricted free agents next season are Dennis Pitta, Ed Dickson, Michael Oher, Terrence Cody, Arthur Jones, Chris Johnson,Billy Bajema, Corey Graham, James Ihedigbo and Jacoby Jones.

There are of course other players, mainly the lesser known guys like Anthony Allen and Josh Bynes, who will be restricted or exclusive rights free agents, but I'm not going to include them in this list; this is only the unrestricted guys.

Basically, I'm going to take the 10 guys I mentioned above and put my fortune-telling abilities to use. Will they stay or will they go? Pretty simple concept to grasp, yeah?

Like with any list I make about the Ravens, I'm going to leave any personal feelings I have for the players on the side and just predict their future with the team. Some will be fairly easy to figure and others I'm still not sure of and probably won't be until I start writing for their portion of this slideshow.

Without any further ado, lets get this slide show on the road.

Dennis Pitta

Pitta is a slam dunk to stick around in 2014 and beyond. The only question is when will he be signed to a long-term extension? My guess is sooner rather than later.

Ed Dickson

With Dennis Pitta's probable long-term extension on the horizon, fellow tight end Ed Dickson could wind up being the casualty of that deal. In fact, I'll say it now; he's a goner after the season.

Billy Bajema

Bajema will be a goner after the 2013 season. That is if he can even make the team this year as the No. 3 tight end. He'll face stiff competition in rookie Matt Furstenburg.

Arthur Jones

Arthur Jones has gotten better each and every year with the Ravens. I have no doubt he'll be signed after the season, unless he has a huge breakout this year and someone ridiculously overpays him like the way the Miami Dolphins did with Dannell Ellerbe.

Terrence Cody

Say goodbye to "Mount" Cody. The Ravens drafted Brandon Williams to most likely be Cody's eventual replacement.

Jacoby Jones

Jacoby is pretty expensive for a return guy that basically runs one route. I don't see him coming back in 2014.

Corey Graham

Love to see Corey Graham stay for the long haul, but I'm seeing another good season out of him that will bring his cost up too much for the Ravens to pay next year.

Chris Johnson

I actually see Johnson staying. He's stated that he wants to finish out his career with the Ravens and would sign for the league minimum. It would be good to keep around an experienced guy for a young secondary.

James Ihedigbo

I think he stays. He's not very expensive, can play both safety positions and has starting experience.

Michael Oher

Here's the one I'm having the most trouble figuring out. Oher has proved to be a pretty good right tackle. As a left tackle, he's been pretty pedestrian. He won't be cheap to keep either. I have a feeling the Ravens will pay the piper for Oher. Gotta have at least one tackle if Bryant McKinnie breaks down. No matter the case, the Ravens need a new left tackle for the future.
