It’s not very often that we see an undrafted free agent come into the league with as much buzz surrounding him as Da’Rick Rogers. Then again, it’s rare to see a player with such raw talent and athleticism go undrafted at all, but that’s exactly what happened to Rogers this past April. The Buffalo Bills took a chance on Rogers, a player with a history of character concerns, and it seems as though that bet is about to pay off big.

Since day one with the Bills, Rogers has played with a chip on his shoulder and an obvious hunger to improve. While it’s one thing to say that your past issues are behind you, it’s quite another to put your money where your mouth is and focus completely on football. Rogers has done just that and shown marked improvement from OTAs to training camp. Through the first four days of training camp, Rogers has been one of the team’s best receivers. He has consistently made big, even eye-popping plays, and more importantly he has done so without getting cocky.

Following a lighthearted interview with Hannah Buehler of BuffaloBills.com on Tuesday, Rogers was asked what Bills fans should know about him heading into training camp. Rogers furrowed his brow, took a moment to carefully think of a response, and replied:

“If you don’t know, I’m here to work. Everything that has happened in the past, anything that’s ever happened…this is day one, this is a new start. I’m here to work, and I’m glad to be a Buffalo Bill.”

That mindset, when combined with Rogers natural ability should be a terrifying prospect for opposing defenses. The Bills are shaping up to have one of the youngest, fastest, most dynamic offenses in the league next season, and Da’Rick Rogers should be a major weapon in that system.
