Kansas City Chiefs’ Eric Fisher Can’t Wait for First Preseason Game
Kansas City Chiefs offensive tackle Eric Fisher has thoroughly enjoyed organized team activities and the beginning of training camp. However, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft is definitely ready for his first preseason game to show everyone the Chiefs made the right decision selecting him.
“It’s going to be huge for me,’’ Fisher said, according to KansasCity.com. “I finally get to experience the NFL for real. I’m excited to get down there.’’
The rookie has fit right in with the rest of the offensive linemen, which is a big reason why he is probably enjoying life so much.
“I’m playing with an awesome group of guys,“ Fisher said, according to KCChiefs.com. “They’re taking me in well, trying to help me as much as possible. It’s a new system for them too, so, we’re kind of helping each other sometimes. Their experience in playing on Sundays already, it’s great to learn from them.”
Fisher has worked very hard to get to where he is, whether it was in the weight room or in practice with the Chiefs. The good news is it will all pay off very soon when he steps on the gridiron for his first professional game.
“Football is fun and the games are exciting but when you’re out here in training camp it’s definitely work,” Fisher told KansasCity.com. “That’s exactly what it is. It’s your job. It’s my career.
“To go against somebody else and not have to go against these guys like the last 10 practices, I’m really excited to do that.’’
