Philadelphia Eagles’ DeSean Jackson Set For Monster Season

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

It has become a daily occurrence at training camp. Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson makes a move at the line of scrimmage, uses his speed to get by the defending corner and plucks the ball out of the air from Michael Vick or Nick Foles on his way into the end zone. Jackson is in rare form early in training camp.

Jackson simply cannot be contained by opposing corner backs and safeties. He is the fastest man in the league by my money and he should explode in a Chip Kelly offense that is catered to fast, fast-twitch athletes such as Jackson.

Jackson self admittedly has had a few down seasons due to injury and previous lingering contract concerns. With those distractions and setbacks out of the way, Jackson can focus purely on football. In a system that fits his abilities to a tee, he will be the perfect weapon to be used as a mismatch all over the field.

Expect Jackson to be lined up out wide, in the slot and even in the backfield as Coach Kelly will look to utilize Jackson’s speed and explosive playmaking ability in any way possible to create problems for an opposing defense.

Thus far in training camp and early in the preseason, Eagles defenders or any defender for that matter have not been able to deal with Jackson’s deep speed and explosiveness especially on vertical routes as he has gotten by corners at will deep down the field. Fantasy owners might want to buy high on Jackson. He is in for a huge year.
