Jason Peters’ Return a Welcome Sight for Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Michael Vick
The best left tackle in football made his return to the practice field and will finally make his return to the football field on Saturday after a long hiatus. His name is Jason Peters.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was practically giddy when talking about the return of his left tackle as he knows he won’t have to worry much about rushers from the left side with the big fella in the game. Vick so far even without Peters’ hulking presence has had excellent protection in what has been a stellar preseason for him with only two incompletions — one coming on a Hail Mary at the end of the half.
Guard/Tackle combination Allen Barbre has done an admirable job filling in for Peters, and Lane Johnson has looked like anything but a rookie at right tackle giving the Eagles good depth at tackle which is something they sorely, sorely lacked last season. Getting Peters back should only be a boost to what is shaping up to be a potentially elite offensive line.
Vick has not been afforded the benefit of a solid offensive line in quite a few years. Last year injuries piled up on the line starting with Peters before the season even got started, and Vick was practically running for his life from jump street in what was a disastrous season for every one involved.
This offensive line could be special. If afforded protection Vick and this offense could also be special in 2013. If Vick has time to dissect a defense for a change look for the scoreboard to light up early and often this year.

Three players who will have breakout seasons for the New York Jets
A lot of the hype surrounding the Jets stems from the big-name guys they brought in this offseason -- Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie, Brandon Marshall -- but no matter how good they may be, they’re still joining a team that went 4-12 last season; they won’t be able to do it all themselves. The Jets need some of their own guys to step up, to break out. Read More
