Atlanta Falcons: What’s Wrong With Your Team?
Lately, the Atlanta Falcons are a team that looks like they are always poised for a Super Bowl run, and then they get stopped short for one reason or another. Since Michael Vick became their starting quarterback in 2004, they hadn’t won a playoff game until last year. They have a great deal of fire power on their offense, including wide receivers Julio Jones and Roddy White. The Falcons have also established stars who are on their down swing of their careers, including first ballot Hall of Famer tight end Tony Gonzalez, and newly acquired bruising running back Steven Jackson, who has been on of the best player on the St. Louis Rams since being drafted in 2003.
Another thing wrong with the Falcons is that they are in dire need of a young, hungry pass rusher, or a few pass rushers, that will create havoc on opposing team’s quarterbacks and offensive linemen. This will ultimately cause head coaches, offensive coordinators and position coaches to have sleepless nights, due to having prepare for such.
The last part that might be a problem, is their cornerbacks, as the Falcons went back-to-back at that position in this past April’s NFL Draft by selecting Desmond Trufant and Robert Alford, respectably; however it’s a wait and see approach right now
All and all, it will be interesting if the Falcons progress one more game this and go to the Super Bowl.
