After things failed to work out with the Arizona Cardinals over the last two seasons, Kevin Kolb was hoping for a fresh start with the Buffalo Bills in 2013 and compete with E.J. Manuel for the starting job. While Manuel will most likely be the starter in Week 1, it looks like Kolb may have to be concerned about more than just the starting job–as in his career possibly coming to an end.

Everybody knew Kolb was one of the most injury prone players in the league, but nobody could have seen this move coming. With all of the controversy surrounding concussions in the league, these types of injuries are always a major reason for concern, but players can only deal with so many of them.

The fact that Kolb already has three this early in his career is a huge reason to be concerned and it will certainly be interesting to see how things turn out over the next couple of days. If Kolb is dealing with a career-ending injury, this could help Matt Leinart–who agreed to join the team on Sunday–earn a roster spot after all.

For the sake of Kolb, we hope for nothing but the best during his recovery period.
