Buffalo Bills’ Public Enemy In Preseason Week 4: Detroit Lions’ Ziggy Ansah
While he is green as grass, defensive end Ziggy Ansah of the Detroit Lions is looking like the real deal after being selected fifth overall in this year’s NFL Draft and he continues to improve every single day in the league. It wasn’t until his sophomore year of college where he picked up the game, after being cut from the Brigham Young University Cougars basketball and soccer teams. Considering he is 6-foot-5 271-pounds that would be a huge soccer player.
So far in his first preseason he has had an interception return for a touchdown on New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, and in his third game he was giving New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady massive fits as he was pressuring him early and often. Playing on the same line as fellow first round defensive tackle that’s a freak of nature in Ndamukong Suh could only yield huge things for the Lions in the future.
It should be interesting to see what happens Thursday when Ansah is locking horns with second year Buffalo Bills left tackle Cordy Glenn who is a mountain of a man at 6-foot-6 345-pounds. Glenn is a punishing run blocker and is shockingly light on his feet so he can be an excellent pass protector for whomever the signal caller is in Buffalo.
All in all, the almighty question is how long does rookie Ziggy Ansah play Thursday night as teams like protecting their stars. However, with it being his first year he could use all the snaps he can get to become a terror to opposing teams’ offenses sooner than later.
