No Surprise Aaron Hernandez Reportedly Had Bad Drug Problem, Was on Verge of Getting Cut
Aaron Hernandez was an avid Angel Dust user, according to a new report from Rolling Stone. Apparently, he had such a problem with PCP, that he was even on the verge of being cut by New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. The report also states that Hernandez became so paranoid as a result of his drug use that he began carrying a gun with him at nearly all times. These latest rumors have shed light on what seems to be a very troubled past for the former tight end.
Whatever was truly going on in his life, it all culminated with an arrest on first-degree murder charges in June. Who knows how accurate this latest report is, but I’m willing to bet that it’s not far off from the truth.
On top of the latest rumors of his drug use, it’s also being said that Urban Meyer helped to cover up two incidents involving Hernandez during his time at Florida. One was an assault and one a drive-by shooting. On top of that, the report says Meyer helped his TE pass drug tests to keep him on the field. If true, the cover ups would most certainly come back to bite Meyer in the rear.
All of this sounds too crazy to be fully true. I wouldn’t doubt that Hernandez used drugs and that Meyer helped to keep him on the field, but I have a hard time believing Meyer would help to cover up a drive-by shooting. We’ll have to wait and see what comes of this, but I doubt we ever hear the full truth.
