Kansas City Chiefs: 3 Things To Watch Vs. Green Bay Packers
The Kansas City Chiefs second and third teams really stepped up last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Chase Daniels had a great game and looked like the quarterback they paid a ton of money to to be the backup to Alex Smith. There are a couple of things to look for during vs. the Green Bay Packers tonight, as well.
No. 1: Look for potential stars in the making. There have always been one or two players in the last preseason game that just stands out and makes the team based upon his performance in this game. Look for the one or two players and keep note of them for seasons ahead.
No. 2: Look for how well Tyler Bray moves the team down the field. Bray has the arm strength, but his decision making has always been the question mark. Look for him to have a high completion percentage and/or no turnovers to solidify his spot on this roster moving forward. If he doesn’t, I wouldn’t be shocked if the Chiefs only went with two quarterbacks going into the regular season opener.
No. 3: I think the offensive line is set in stone with their eight players, but look for the secondary, wide receivers, tight ends and linebackers to fight for their final spots on the team. Some players will over pursue trying to make a play and others will gamble, but look for the solid players that are in the right position every time to be the backups that actually make the team. Because in the long run, not everyone is a Troy Polamalu who can freelance and make things happen.
That’s it, three big things to look out for when the Chiefs play the Packers this afternoon. I expect a close, defensive struggle that ends up with the Chiefs winning 17-13.
