As the deadline approaches Saturday where teams must reach the 53-man roster limit, the Denver Broncos are on their way. Having made a couple of cuts already, the Broncos have specifically solidified their depth chart at the running back position — or so we think.
Veteran running back Lance Ball was one of the most notable releases on Friday, as his time with Denver has come to an end, thus making it more apparent that undrafted rookie C.J. Anderson will be the team’s third back.
Ball appeared in 41 games over three seasons with the Broncos and totaled 718 yards rushing during his tenure. Friday, Ball announced that he was being let go via Twitter.
Closing another chapter in my book, thanks to the Broncos Organization for the years of great memories and also the fans who supported me!

Denver also released wide receiver Gerrell Robinson who spent the last three years on the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad. With depth at the position, Robinson was not expected to make the final cut.
Cornerback Aaron Hester was the third and final cut up to this point, after going undrafted out of UCLA this year. Hester recorded a total of seven tackles after appearing in three preseason games this summer.
While the Broncos are just beginning their cuts, it is a bit odd that they still have over 15 guys left to go heading into the final day. Make sure to keep checking back here at Rant Sports for all of the final updates out of Denver as the deadline passes Saturday.
