Eddie Lacy Has the Talent To Take Over As Starting RB For Green Bay Packers

Eddie Lacy

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

Eddie Lacy is listed third on the depth chart for running backs on the Green Bay Packers (according to ESPN’s website), but he has the talent to take over as the starting RB at some point this season.

Sure, two players may be ahead of him on the depth chart, but those two players do not have the talent that Lacy has.

The Packers’ running game has not matched up with their passing game over the years and that is about to change. Sure, Aaron Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in the league and Lacy may never reach his level, but Lacy is still good enough to have 1,000 yard season after 1,000 yard season.

Rodgers threw for 4,295 yards and 39 touchdowns last season. Alex Green rushed for the most yards on the team with 464. As you can see, Green Bay did not really have a huge threat at the running back position and that is where Lacy comes in.

Sure, he will only be a rookie and many teams passed him up in the NFL draft this summer, but that doesn’t mean anything.

Green Bay is the perfect place for him to succeed and if he does have a big year, the Packers will thrive off of him as much as he will thrive off of playing for Green Bay.

Lacy may not be the starter right now, but he definitely will be at some point during the season. People cannot deny his talent and he is going to show it off all season long.
