Tim Tebow Still Has NFL Future If He Remains Patient
Tim Tebow’s performance Thursday night in the New England Patriots’ 28-20 victory over the New York Giants shows that while the Pats eventually decided to cut him, he still is good enough to get a spot on some other team.
Obviously most No. 1 quarterbacks in the NFL are better than Tebow. But there are not that many No. 2 quarterbacks that are as good as he is. There certainly aren’t many No. 3 guys better than Tebow.
He threw a couple of touchdown passes against the Giants to lead the Patriots over New York 28-20.
Granted, that performance was against the Giants’ reserves and who knows how Tebow will do against a No. 1 lineup. Like any quarterback, he’ll have his good series and his bad ones. But when he got the chance against the Giants to show what he could do, he actually didn’t perform too badly.
There’s 32 teams in the league and many keep No. 3 quarterbacks. It’s just that teams don’t want all the extra attention paid to Tebow for his non-football lifestyle that has been showcased ever since he entered the league. He continuously shows teams that give him a shot that he has the talent to be an NFL quarterback. But he has yet to find the right team at the right time that he is willing to make the long-term commitment to him.
There’s an NFL team out there that will be right for Tebow. He should not give up on the NFL even though It appears the NFL has given up on him. Tebow’s Christian religion teaches him to be patient. If he’s patient enough, he’ll eventually find a home in the NFL.
