There’s not a whole lot left for Peyton Manning to prove in his NFL career. This is a guy who’s won a Super Bowl and taken home four MVP awards. But it still seems like he’s not satisfied. It’s clear that he wants that elusive second Super Bowl ring and to win it with his new team, would make it even more special. The four neck surgeries are now a thing of the past as the QB and his Denver Broncos get set to start the 2013 season.

The Broncos are the clear favorites to win the AFC this year. They’re basically returning everyone from last year’s top-seed playoff team and there’s really no reason to think they won’t equal or better their 13-3 record. The Denver defense has taken a few hits with the loss of Elvis Dumervil and the suspension of Pro Bowl linebacker Von Miller, but who needs defense when you have Manning and the Broncos’ passing attack?

I don’t think there’s any question at all that Peyton will be back to his MVP form this season, especially considering he has a fantastic new target in Wes Welker. He’s pulled it off before by having three receivers hit the 1,000-yard mark, and I believe that will again be the case this season in Denver.

Unless Adrian Peterson decides to go on another rampage and break the NFL’s single-season rushing record, Peyton Manning will be the winner of an unprecedented fifth MVP award in 2013.
