The season opener between the AFC East division rivals New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills was another classic to say the least.

The game ball for this game goes to Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman as he had seven catches for 79 yards with two touchdown receptions. This being said, if the Bills had won the game it, would have gone to safety Da’Norris Searcy.

Edelman was consistently beating a heavily injured Bills secondary as Jairus Byrd and Stephon Gilmore were both out  for the game, and that was ultimately one of the biggest reasons why the Patriots won. Julian Edelman is a very impressive athlete as he is a converted quarterback. He is an extremely quick special teams ace who can help rookie punter Ryan Allen along as he learns the ropes in the NFL.

If these games between the Bills and Patriots are going to be this close for years to come, this could slowly become one of the greatest and most heated rivalries in the NFL.

That being said, it could also flounder as Patriots quarterback Tom Brady isn’t a spring chicken anymore, and time always catches up to even the very best in the game sooner than later. Even if it’s surely not in his mind right now, the prospect of retirement will likely intensify after his current contract expires at the end of the 2017-18 season.
