The bright lights of Monday night are almost upon us. The Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Redskins are ready to do battle.

This really does set up to be an exciting opener for both of these teams. Robert Griffin III is set to return for the Skins. Chip Kelly and his bag of tricks is set for his NFL debut. Plus, they’re division rivals and that always helps. You really couldn’t ask for a better stage for these things to happen.

So what should we be looking for? Well, from the Redskins side, they seem to have no clue according to reports. Skins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett has been watching a ton of film on Chip’s old team (Oregon). Mike Shanahan has talked about how to slow down Chip’s offense maybe by having players taking dives, even though he doesn’t really agree with it.

His son, offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, is also worried about the Eagles’ defense being an unknown. He talked about how he has some preseason film to go by, but some of those players that were on film are gone now.

You know what the funny part is? I also have no clue either. There are so many questions to be answered, and the game will be the beginning of the football world finding out those answers.

Will Chip be able to translate his success from college into the NFL? Can Bill Davis be an defensive coordinator? Will Jason Peters finally stay healthy? Is this the year Michael Vick lives up to his potential and stops being an turnover machine? Is this the worst secondary in the league? How many shakes do the Eagles drink at half-time?

So many important questions here, and they’re about to start getting answered.
