Contrary to popular opinion, Robert Griffin III is in fact a human being, who struggles with a case of the jitters every now and again like the rest of us. While Washington Redskins‘ fans don’t want to hear about the moment being to big for RG3; it’s obvious that the second-year quarterback simply bit off more than he could chew.
Putting the entire state of Maryland on edge, Griffin spent the offseason updating fans about his current rehab from a torn ACL injury he suffered in January…this was Griffin’s first mistake. After that, a camera crew would soon follow the Redskins’ quarterback — at his request — and soon anyone with internet access or a television knew about his recovery.
Did Adrian Peterson do that when he was rebounding from his torn ACL? I didn’t think so.
The way that Griffin went about his offseason was rather dramatic to say the least, and it’s not far-fetched to say that Week 1 was simply too big of a stage for RG3. Moreover, the Redskins have 15 more games left in the regular season, which means that Griffin will have plenty more opportunities to prove that he can excel when it matters most.
