In what many assumed would be an easy game on the schedule for the Houston Texans has turned into a contest fans are legitimately worried about. The Tennessee Titans have proven to be no joke after their outstanding performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the season opener. There is no question the Titans defense will give the Texans everything they can handle in Week 2.
“To go out and hold a team on the road to 195 yards, that’s a statement in itself,” Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said, according to FoxNews.com. “They can get after the quarterback up front, so we know we’ve got our hands full.”
“They’re an aggressive group,” quarterback Matt Schaub said. “A team we know well. We play twice a year, but they’re an active, very fast-flow, physical defense. We’re going to have to be in top form for 60 minutes. They’re a good defensive group, really held Pittsburgh in check. So we’re going to have our hands full.”
Not many people expected to see Tennessee defeat Pittsburgh on Sunday afternoon, but that is exactly what happened. The defense proved to be too much for Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers’ offense. Roethlisberger tossed one interception and was sacked five times while the Titans held him to just 191 passing yards.
There is no question the Titans are excited to put their defense to the test against the Texans on Sunday. It is not to say that the Steelers were not a true test, but the Texans are clearly one of the top teams in the AFC. If Tennessee can put forth a similar performance against Houston then the rest of the AFC better be on alert.
