That isn’t a typo as the title of this article, the Pittsburgh Steelers are the worst team in the NFL; they looked lost last week when they took on the Tennessee Titans. Plus quarterback Ben Roethlisberger lost arguably his most valuable asset on offense last week in his center Maurkice Pouncey. A team’s center is vital as they call out blitz packages and relay them to the quarterback and the other linemen, also he has to be the most aware of the quarterback’s cadence as he is the one snapping the ball.
Their running game, which has won them the majority of their Super Bowls, was beyond pathetic last week as they only had 32 yards on 15 carries and it’s likely not to get any better as this week they have the Cincinnati Bengals, who will be licking their chops in the opportunity to deal massive blow to their most hated rival over their years and make them 0-2 on the season.
Then there is the defense, the other key component into winning, who isn’t the youngest bunch to say the least, and while they looked more than decent against a week passing attack of the Titans, they couldn’t completely shut down the running game. This resulted in a nearly 10 minute time of possession advantage for Tennessee.
Finally, the Steelers have Todd Haley (pictured above) as their offensive coordinator, who will go down as one of the worst coaches in the history of the NFL when he was in charge of the Kansas City Chiefs. Haley is extremely short sighted and he has an even shorter temper.
All in all, it will likely be a long 2013 season for the team in Black and Gold.
