Baltimore Ravens Rumors: Team To Sign Kenny Britt In 2014?

Kenny Britt

Kenny Britt to the Baltimore Ravens is a rumor I was hearing a good bit in the summer. Hakeem Nicks is another name that was linked to the Ravens, but neither was anymore than a rumor. After a recent tweet from Britt himself “Looks like the Titans pullin that Jared Cook card .. Looking like this the last year ill be sayin #TitanUp .. So lets make it a Great year” Based off that tweet it would appear that Britt won’t be back in Music City next year.

Perhaps it’s a little too early to look into 2014, but I say it’s never too early to look into the future even though I believe the 2013 Ravens are still a contender in the weak AFC. Britt has showed flashes of brilliance while with the Tennessee Titans but also plenty of knuckleheaded immaturity as well. The Ravens could have some openings at the receiver position next year. Jacoby Jones will be an unrestricted free agent next year, and it will hard to envision the Ravens bringing him back at $4-5 million a year when he’s essentially a glorified kick returner. Brandon Stokley has been a nice veteran addition thus far, but he’s merely a one year stopgap. Marlon Brown is looking more and more like he could be an emerging star, but we still have a while to go there.

Personally I think at the right price Britt could be a nice addition for the Ravens next year. Ozzie Newsome has taken chances on headcases before and more times than not they work out because of a strong Raven locker room. My hopes would be that Torrey Smith and Brown would be the top receivers next year with Britt as the number three guy. What does the future hold for Britt and the Ravens? We’ll have to wait and see.
