NFL: 5 Teams That Will Win In Week 3

NFL

We are only two weeks in to the 2013 NFL season, and the elite teams are already starting to distance themselves from the pack. On the AFC side, the Denver Broncos have started strong and appear to be the favorites. Peyton Manning has the offense firing on all cylinders and their defense looks strong. Losing left tackle Ryan Clady for the season will certainly hurt, but there is no doubt that Denver will be competitive.

I think Manning's old team, the Indianapolis Colts, will be strong AFC contenders after the shocking acquisition of Trent Richardson on Wednesday. The Cincinnati Bengals also look to be solid; don't forget about the New England Patriots and Houston Texans. Both teams are 2-0, but had two closely contested games against inferior opponents. New England and Houston both have a ton of talent on their rosters, and I think will still be serious contenders in the AFC.

I see a handful of very competitive teams in the NFC, including the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints. I think all of these teams will be strong contenders, and will surely have something to say about who represents the NFC in the Super Bowl. That being said, I think the two best teams in the conference squared off in Week 2 on Sunday Night Football. The Seattle Seahawks</strong> made a huge statement last week when they man-handled the San Francisco 49ers 29-3.

This was obviously an impressive showing by Seattle. Marshawn Lynch went in to beast mode, their amazing defense was suffocating, and quarterback Russell Wilson was solid. They have cemented themselves as a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Even though this was a disappointing performance by San Francisco, I would not be too worried if I was a 49ers' fan. Seattle is one of the toughest places to play. That crowd really gets behind their team, and it made it almost impossible for quarterback Colin Kaepernick to communicate. I am not worried about the 49ers, this is still one of the most talented teams in the league, and they will be serious Super Bowl contenders.

Looking ahead to Week 3, I see a handful of nice matchups, and there are some teams that I am absolutely confident will win. Here are five teams that will definitely win their Week 3 matchups.

San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco hosts the Colts on Sunday afternoon, and while I do like see the Colts as contenders for this season, I think the 49ers are a lock this week. San Francisco rarely loses at home (6-1-1 last season), and I think they will be fired up and ready to go after their embarrassing performance in Week 2. They are an incredibly talented team that is impressive on both sides of the ball. The 49ers will be too much for Andrew Luck and company this weekend.

Chicago Bears

The Bears have been very impressive so far this season, starting off with a 2-0 record. New head coach Marc Trestman has the offense in order, and it is business as usual on the defensive side of the ball. Running back Matt Forte is a perfect fit for Trestman's offense, and he has looked outstanding so far. The Bears play the Pittsburgh Steelers this week.

Pittsburgh has been awful early in this season. Offensively, the team has zero running game and Ben Roethlisberger is running for his life almost every time he drops back. Defensively, the Steelers have been decent but it will not be good enough in this game. Chicago will have no problem with the anemic Pittsburgh offense and rolls in this one.

Denver Broncos

This one is simple. Denver is one of the best teams in the league, and their Week 3 opponent, the Oakland Raiders, are one of the worst. Oakland is much improved from last season, and quarterback Terrell Pryor has been good. That being said, Manning and his arsenal of weapons are going to be way too much for the Raiders to handle on Monday Night Football.

New England Patriots

The Patriots are supporting one of the ugliest 2-0 records in NFL history. The offense has struggled mightily in their two games against the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets. That being said, the team is 2-0, and it is possible that Tom Brady will have Rob Gronkowski back in their Week 3 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa is sitting at 0-2 and appear to be one of the worst offensive teams in the league. Quarterback Josh Freeman looks awful, and teams are stacking the box against Doug Martin. I think the Patriots' defense will make Freeman beat them, and he will fail miserably. Also, I think Brady gets back on track in this one and the Patriots win big.

Seattle Seahawks

Seahawks

This one is the most obvious game on the list. As I said earlier, the Seahawks made a statement last week and are obviously a Super Bowl contending team. Their Week 3 opponent is the Jacksonville Jaguars. I mentioned before that the Raiders are one of the worst teams in the NFL. The Jaguars lost to Oakland last week (19-9). Their defense is awful and their offense may even be worse. The Jaguars are probably the worst team in the league, and the Seahawks just might be the best. To add insult to injury, this one will take place in Seattle, with thousands of loud and proud Seahawk fans in attendance. This one will be over before it even starts. Good luck Jacksonville, you are going to need it.
