Buffalo Bills Regular Season Week 3: New York Jets’ Chris Ivory is the Second Head Of Cerberus

Chris Ivory

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

New York Jets running back Chris Ivory could potentially create havoc for the Buffalo Bills who for years, seems to have struggled mightily to stop the running attack of all 31 other teams, no matter what level of back it is. While Ivory has only had 67 yards on 22 carries so far this year, it is extremely likely that his numbers will explode due to the aforementioned ineptitude. While Ivory’s numbers over the years has been steadily dropping, that isn’t due to lack of talent as his former team. The New Orleans Saints kept on adding running backs ahead of him including Mark Ingram and dynamic playmaker in undersized running back Darren Sproles.

However, if the Bills front seven can shut down the run game, besides it being nothing short of a miracle, it will greatly increase the odds of winning. The Jets passing attack is beleaguered and that’s being a kind as their feature receiver is Santonio Holmes and has been nursing a foot injury that ended his 2012 campaign and has greatly slowed his return in 2013. The Bills need to shut down and clog the running lanes down and if they do so, this team will be confident and it might spill over into their offense where players like C.J. Spiller who are chomping at the bit to show the last game of last season and last week’s game wasn’t just some random fluke win. This might show the league the Bills have turned the page and are a team on a massive up swing.

During a recent appearance on ' The Rich Eisen Show', former Chicago Bears and current New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall was asked about his relationship with his old quarterback, Jay Cutler. Marshall, who has zero chill, replied that he had not spoken to Cutler in "two years." Naturally, Eisen was shocked and mentioned that they were teammates just a season ago. Marshall essentially confirmed that they were not talking off the field during his last year in Chicago, but ultimately wished Cutler well.
