Sunday’s Pick to Click for the Green Bay Packers
The kickoff to Week 3 of the NFL season is hours away. One of the most anticipated matchups will begin in Ohio as the Cincinnati Bengals take on the Green Bay Packers. There will be many playmakers out on the field today but my pick to click for the Packers is wide receiver Jordy Nelson.
In two games thus far this season, Nelson has 196 yards and three touchdowns. He is proving to everyone in the league once again that he can be a dominant receiver and is clearly one of Aaron Rodgers favorite targets.
In my opinion, there is no reason why Nelson shouldn’t have a huge performance today. The Bengals defense under Mike Zimmer is thought to be one of the better defenses in the league. However, in two games this season, they have allowed big time games to receivers.
In Week 1 vs. the Chicago Bears, Brandon Marshall had a huge game. Marshall finished with 104 yards and a touchdown. In Week 2 against a very depleted Pittsburgh Steelers offense, the Bengals allowed 78 yards to Emanuel Sanders.
Judging by stats from the first two weeks, I can see Nelson having a huge game today. I expect him to be targeted a lot by Rodgers and expect the Packers offense to spread the field and really challenge this young secondary that the Bengals have.
My final prediction on Nelson is: seven catches, 125 yards and a touchdown.
Can the Packers get the offense going and get a huge road win before the bye week? Can they match the Bengals defense intensity? All of this will be seen in a matter of hours. Expect Nelson to play a big role in answering these questions!
