This Sunday will the final game of the first quarter of the 2013 season for the defending champion Baltimore Ravens. They’ll be traveling to face the Buffalo Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium. I’m proud to say that your favorite Ravens writer (that’s me) will be at Ralph Wilson Stadium also, decked out in my Ravens gear.
I can only hope that this game will be better than the 9-6 snooze fest at Arrowhead Stadium against the Kansas City Chiefs that I attended last year.
The Ravens thrashed the Houston Texans at home last week 30-9. So of course, my fear for this game is the classic road letdown game against a team that might be taken for granted. I do start to feel better when I realize that Ray Rice will probably return for this game. The Ravens have struggled mightily in the running game, but facing the Bills’ 30th ranked rush defense might cure what ails them.
I also start to feel better about this game when I heard the Bills’ offensive line gave up eight sacks to E.J. Manuel in last week’s game against the New York Jets. The Ravens have had at least three sacks in every game they’ve played thus far. DE Chris Canty is also expected to return to the Ravens lineup in this game.
The last thing that makes me feel good about this game is that the Bills’ injury report has about 78 names on it, give or take a few. I want to predict a total blowout, but I’m not at the point yet where I can trust this Ravens offense on the road. Prove me wrong, boys.
Ravens 27 — Bills 17
