Denver Broncos Must Capitalize On All Opportunities Against Philadelphia Eagles

Anyone who is lucky enough to watch the Denver Broncos take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday will not be disappointed. That is simply what happens when the top two scoring offenses in the NFL take flight against each other. Considering the circumstances, the Broncos must capitalize on every opportunity the Eagles give them to score touchdowns.

There is no question Philadelphia will have their hands full with a trio of wide receivers that have proved to be unstoppable this season. Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker and Wes Welker are on pace to do something very special in 2013. Giving Peyton Manning those kinds of weapons almost seems unfair. Not to mention, even if defenses prevent the three wide outs from having a stellar game tight end Julius Thomas will step in and dominate, which is something he has already demonstrated.

“It’s that classic ‘pick your poison,’” former Broncos safety John Lynch said, according to the Denver Post. “You want to stop him? We’ll go here. And the guy throwing to them is pretty darn good too. I would go a step further and add the emergence of (tight end) Julius Thomas.

“To me, at the end of last year, you started seeing people say, ‘All right, we’ll take care of the two guys outside, we can double up.’ But now you can’t do that, because you better respect the middle of the field with Wes Welker and Julius.”

The Eagles have their own potent offense, which makes Sunday’s contest sure to a high-scoring affair. The fact that Philadelphia and Denver rank 29th and 30th in the league in pass defense just adds to what could be a record shattering game.

Even though many have projected the Broncos to come out on top, Denver’s offense still must soar every chance they get.
