In terms of productivity, these are the two best offenses in the league facing off against one another in Week 4. Both defenses have had their struggles in the pass game. All this spells a recipe for up and down football that should see the scoreboard in the high 30′s if not 40′s when the dust has settled and all is said and done.
The Broncos feature all-time great Peyton Manning at the quarterback position. He has seen every defensive coverage and scheme known to man and is the ultimate head coach on the football field. He has great weapons on the outside in Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas, a new toy at tight end in the ultra athletic Julius Thomas, and new slot weapon Wes Welker who is just deadly on the inside.
There really is no stopping this offense. The key is to limit the damage and potentially force Manning to make mistakes. Being stingy in the red zone and turning the football over might be the Eagles only chance at winning this game in the thin air of Denver.
One other advantage the Eagles might have is the time they have had to prepare for the Broncos. The Eagles have had a week and a half to rest on their laurels and dissect the highflying Broncos offense. The Broncos on the other hand are coming off a short week, having played on Monday Night and haven’t had quite as much time to prepare for Chip Kelly‘s up-tempo attack.
This is certain to be an explosion of offense. Both team’s feature premium talent on offense as the Eagles are no slouches either with LeSean McCoy playing like the best running back in the league, DeSean Jackson giving cornerbacks and safeties fits, and mercurial Quarterback Michael Vick capable of a monster game given time in the pocket as we have seen in the past.
Tune in Sunday folks. This is a can’t-miss game.
